MALE ENSEMBLE NORTHWEST
ANNOUNCING AUDITIONS FOR 2023-24  SEASON
Openings for: 0, 1, 2 or 3 Vocalist(s)  Tenor, Baritone or Bass 
Audition Date:  TBA after invitations to a live audition are determined. 
Individuals may be invited to a live audition with members of the ensemble,
based on evaluation of your song submissions.
Application deadline: EXTENDED ONE WEEK to Saturday, May 5, 2023

Audition Requirements:
1) Perform two pieces of solo literature: One art song and one Broadway or Jazz tune
2) Sing scales to demonstrate range and vocal quality
3) Sight read pieces from current M.E.N. repertoire with ensemble members.
May be asked to sing different voice parts.
May be asked to read in a language other than English
4) Have an onsite interview with members of M.E.N.
Qualifications:
1) An experienced and successful choral conductor/music educator
2) A team player: flexible in voice and character,
Willing/able to read new parts at a moments notice,
Willing/able to direct, adjudicate or coach at a moments notice,
3) A connecting voice: strong, independent singer who is also sensitive to the ensemble sound.
Able to create a unified sound in a variety of standing arrangements
4) Committed ensemble member: willing to make MEN a priority in scheduling and attendance.
Prepared for rehearsal, concert and workshops
Active in business of the ensemble:      
Work on committees, contribute to repertoire development      
Promote the ensemble to colleagues and region
5) Experience with singing in smaller ensembles                
Must carry part with vocal expertise
6) Able to take direction and suggestion from other ensemble members,
and ability to provide constructive criticism as requested
7) Recognition that M.E.N. is about team effort and not individual attention

We are asking all potential candidates to send in a 1:00 to 1:30 min sound bite (audio or video) of you singing 2 different styles, along with a resume.  Resume should include 3 professional/personal references and their contact information. www.menorthwest.org
